"PM-KISAN UTSAV DIWAS"

The Prime Minister has released the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme to eligible beneficiaries on 2nd August 2025 from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In this context, the Government of India has declared 2nd August 2025 as
"PM-KISAN UTSAV DIWAS".

To commemorate the occasion and raise awareness about the mandatory eligibility criteria for inclusion under the scheme, extensive Information, Education, and Communication (IC) activities are being conducted across the country through various social media platforms, print media, and other outreach channels.

In alignment with this national initiative, the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, UT Chandigarh Administration, jointly organized the "PM-KISAN UTSAV DIWAS" in U.T., Chandigarh. The event was attended virtually through a
dedicated weblink.

the program along with a large number of enthusiastic farmers from the region.

The event served as an important platform to disseminate crucial
information about the PM-KISAN scheme and encouraged farmers to understand and comply with the eligibility norms to avail the benefits under the scheme.

*Chandigarh, July 30:-* In a major crackdown against the illegal storage of banned plastic items, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, in collaboration has recovered a massive 450 kilograms of banned plastic from residential premises in Sector 56.

Following the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, the operation, conducted by a team of Sanitary Inspectors namely Sh. Jagjit Singh (CSI), Sh. Ashish Malik (S.I), Sh. Lokesh Meena (S.I), and Sh. Gurinder Singh (S.I), resulted in the recovery of plastic waste from House No. 817 and 794, Sector 56. A challan has been issued in the name of Vijay, c/o Usha Devi w/o Hari Ram, resident of House No. 817, Sector 56.

This decisive action aligns with the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing efforts to curb the use and storage of prohibited plastic materials within city limits, and to promote eco-friendly waste management practices. The recovered plastic was safely transported and disposed of at the designated dry waste processing plant.

The Commissioner reiterated the zero-tolerance policy of MC Chandigarh towards the violation of plastic ban norms and has warned that further violations will attract stringent penalties and legal action. He urged citizens to cooperate and contribute to keeping Chandigarh clean and sustainable.

The Municipal Corporation remains committed to enforcing environmental regulations and encourages public participation in reporting any such violations to ensure a plastic-free Chandigarh.
