Haryana State Legal Services Authority celebrated National Legal Services Day at PWD rest house, Sector 1 here today by creating awareness amongst students about the significance of legal services day as well as legal services being rendered by legal services authorities.
Sh. Subhas Mehla, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority was also present on this occasion.
He addressed the gathering about the role of legal services institutions in accessing justice through various Alternative Disputes Resolutions available for resolving legal issues including Free Legal Aid, Mediation, Lok Adalats .
During the event, competitions like Quiz, Debate, Slogan writing were organized amongst the students of Devi Dayal College of Law, Barwala. More than 50 students participated in the competitions. Dr. Puja Jaiswal, Faculty Law, Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Ms. Sampreet Kaur, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Panchkula and Ms. Neha Gupta, Advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh graced the event as jury members.
Cultural events were also presented by team of Haryana Kala Parishad.
Haryana State Legal Services Authority has acknowledged the winners by giving trophies and certificates to them. More than 150 students and co-ordinators of different legal literacy clubs attended the event including Panel Advocates of District Legal Services Authority, Panchkula.
