Registration for participation in the e-auction of new registration series “CH01DE”,



Chandigarh, May 20, 2026:

It is informed for the general public/residents of Chandigarh that the registration for participation in the e-auction of new registration series “CH01DE”, along with re-auction of leftover fancy/special registration numbers of series “CH01DD”, “CH01DC”, “CH01DB” and “CH01DA”, will commence from May 22, 2026 (10:00 AM) and continue till May 29, 2026 (05:00 PM). The e-bidding process will be conducted from May 30, 2026 (10:00 AM) to June 1, 2026 (05:00 PM).

Vehicle owners can register themselves on the National Transport website at  vahan.parivahan.gov.in/fancy. The link is also available on the Chandigarh Administration, Transport Department website at  chdtransport.gov.in. After registration, applicants will receive a Unique Acknowledgement Number (UAN).

Only vehicle owners who have purchased vehicles with a Chandigarh address shall be eligible to participate in the e-auction. Sale Letter (Form No. 21), UID (Aadhaar Card) and Chandigarh address proof are mandatory documents for participation.

After registration on the National Transport website or through the Chandigarh Administration, Transport Department website, the vehicle owner shall deposit the registration fee for participation in the e-auction along with the reserve amount of the desired special/fancy registration number at the office of the Registering & Licensing Authority, Near Municipal Corporation Building, Sector 17, Chandigarh, through Demand Draft in favour of “Registering & Licensing Authority, U.T., Chandigarh”, payable at Chandigarh.

Details regarding registration fee, reserve price of special numbers, leftover registration numbers of series “CH01DD”, “CH01DC”, “CH01DB” and “CH01DA”, procedure for online auction, and terms & conditions are available on the Transport Department website.

राज्यपाल ने सुखना लेक पर शानदार सूर्यकिरण एयर शो देखा

चंडीगढ़, 28 मार्च:

सुखना लेक पर आयोजित एयर शो का अवलोकन कई विशिष्ट गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने किया, जिनमें पंजाब के राज्यपाल एवं यू.टी. चंडीगढ़ के प्रशासक श्री गुलाब चंद कटारिया अपनी पत्नी श्रीमती अनीता कटारिया के साथ; हरियाणा के राज्यपाल प्रोफेसर असीम कुमार घोष अपनी पत्नी श्रीमती मित्रा घोष के साथ; पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री श्री भगवंत मान अपनी पत्नी श्रीमती गुरप्रीत कौर के साथ; हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री श्री नायब सिंह सैनी अपनी पत्नी श्रीमती सुमन सैनी के साथ; तथा पंजाब एवं हरियाणा उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति शील नागू शामिल थे। यू.टी. चंडीगढ़ के मुख्य सचिव श्री एच. राजेश प्रसाद और पंजाब के मुख्य सचिव श्री के.ए.पी. सिन्हा सहित चंडीगढ़, पंजाब एवं हरियाणा के अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी उपस्थित रहे। उन्होंने भारतीय वायु सेना के ‘सूर्यकिरण एरोबेटिक डिस्प्ले’ का अवलोकन किया और बड़ी संख्या में एकत्रित अधिकारियों एवं दर्शकों से बातचीत की। उनकी उपस्थिति ने कार्यक्रम को और अधिक विशेष बनाया तथा भारतीय वायु सेना की कौशलता और पेशेवर उत्कृष्टता के प्रति सराहना व्यक्त की।

पंजाब के राज्यपाल श्री गुलाब चंद कटारिया ने पायलटों के कौशल, अनुशासन और समन्वय की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि यह प्रदर्शन भारतीय वायु सेना की पेशेवर दक्षता और उत्कृष्टता को दर्शाता है तथा युवाओं को राष्ट्र सेवा के लिए प्रेरित करता है।

विमानों ने आकाश में तिरंगे के रंगों की धारा छोड़ते हुए देशभक्ति का वातावरण बनाया, जिस पर दर्शकों ने जोरदार तालियों से स्वागत किया। राज्यपाल ने टीम को चंडीगढ़ के लोगों के लिए प्रेरणादायक और यादगार अनुभव प्रदान करने के लिए बधाई दी।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान एरोबेटिक टीम ने रोमांचक हवाई करतबों की श्रृंखला प्रस्तुत की, जिसने दर्शकों को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। विमान सुव्यवस्थित और समन्वित पैटर्न में उड़ान भरते हुए उत्कृष्ट टीमवर्क और नियंत्रण का प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। पायलटों ने क्रॉसिंग, सहज अलगाव, तीव्र ऊर्ध्वाधर चढ़ाई तथा अन्य आकर्षक गतिविधियाँ प्रदर्शित कीं। उन्होंने लूप्स और रोल्स भी किए तथा चुनौतीपूर्ण स्थितियों में उड़ान भरते हुए अद्भुत कौशल और आत्मविश्वास दिखाया। पूरा प्रदर्शन जीवंत और मनोरंजक रहा, जिसने दर्शकों को पूरे समय बांधे रखा और सटीकता व टीमवर्क को रेखांकित किया।

श्री कटारिया ने कार्यक्रम के सुचारु आयोजन के लिए आयोजकों और प्रशासन की सराहना की तथा आशा व्यक्त की कि इस प्रकार के आयोजन युवाओं को सशस्त्र बलों में करियर बनाने के लिए प्रेरित करते रहेंगे।

सूर्यकिरण विमान 12 विंग, चंडीगढ़ एयर बेस से संचालित हुए और इससे पहले 25 और 26 जनवरी को सुजानपुर, हिमाचल प्रदेश में दो दिवसीय एयर शो आयोजित कर चुके हैं। 12 विंग के एओसी ने अपनी टीम के साथ नागरिक प्रशासन के सहयोग से इस कार्यक्रम के सफल आयोजन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। सुखना लेक पर आयोजित दो दिवसीय एयर शो में सूर्यकिरण टीम ने कई विमानों के साथ सघन गठन में उच्च-स्तरीय एरोबेटिक प्रदर्शन किया। यह प्रदर्शन सुबह के समय आयोजित किया गया, जिसमें छात्रों, परिवारों और रक्षा प्रेमियों की उत्साहपूर्ण भागीदारी देखने को मिली।

Governor Witnesses Spectacular Surya Kiran Air Show at Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, March 28:

The air show at Sukhna Lake was witnessed by several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, along with his wife Smt. Anita Kataria; Professor Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Governor of Haryana, along with his wife Smt. Mitra Ghosh; Shri Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, along with his wife Smt. Gurpreet Kaur; Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Chief Minister of Haryana, along with his wife Smt. Suman Saini; and Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, and Shri K.A.P. Sinha, Chief Secretary, Punjab, along with other senior officials of Chandigarh, Punjab & Haryana, were also present. They watched and enjoyed the ‘Suryakiran Aerobatic Display’ of the Indian Air Force and interacted with officials and spectators who had gathered in large numbers to see the performance. Their presence made the event more special and showed appreciation for the skill and professionalism of the Indian Air Force.

The Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, appreciated the skill, discipline and coordination of the pilots, stating that the performance reflected the professionalism and excellence of the Indian Air Force and inspired youth towards service to the nation.

The aircraft left behind trails in the colours of the national tricolour, creating a patriotic atmosphere and drawing loud applause from spectators. The Governor complimented the team for delivering an inspiring and memorable experience for the people of Chandigarh.

During the show, the aerobatic team performed a series of exciting aerial manoeuvres that thrilled the audience. The aircraft flew in well-coordinated patterns, demonstrating excellent teamwork and control. The pilots executed crossings, smooth separations, steep climbs and other eye-catching movements. They also performed loops, rolls, and flew in challenging positions, displaying great skill and confidence. The overall display was lively and entertaining, keeping spectators engaged throughout and highlighting precision and teamwork.

Shri Kataria also lauded the organizers and the administration for ensuring smooth arrangements for the event and expressed hope that such displays would continue to motivate young citizens to pursue careers in the armed forces.

The Suryakiran aircraft operated from 12 Wing, Chandigarh Air Base, and earlier conducted a two-day air show in Sujanpur, Himachal Pradesh, on 25 and 26 January. The AOC, 12 Wing, along with his team, jointly coordinated with the civil administration to make this show a success. The two-day air show was organized over Sukhna Lake, where the elite Surya Kiran team conducted a high-precision aerobatic display using multiple aircraft in close formation. The display was held during the morning hours and drew enthusiastic participation from students, families, and defence enthusiasts.

She also distributed sweets and fruits among the children, creating a joyful and memorable atmosphere.

The Hon’ble Lady Governor keenly observed the activities and rehabilitation services at the institute. She interacted with teachers and staff to understand the educational, therapeutic, and vocational programmes for the children and appreciated their dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts towards holistic development.

Panjab University Girls win overall Women’s title at All India Inter University Gymnastics Championship

Chandigarh, 16 March 2026: Panjab University has won the overall title at the All India Inter University Gymnastics (Women) Championship, which concluded today at the Panjab University Gymnasium Hall.

The host university secured top position in both Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics team events.

In the Rhythmic Gymnastics team championship, Panjab University finished first with 192.350 points. University of Delhi secured second place with 176.750 points. Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai finished third with 172.900 points.

Shivangi of Panjab University won the all-round title in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Life Adlakha of University of Delhi secured second position. Jhanvi of Panjab University finished third.

In Artistic Gymnastics all-round results, Adita Mondal of Panjab University secured first position. Shatakshi Rakesh Takke of MIT World Peace University, Pune finished second. Eshita Sunil Rewale of University of Mumbai secured third place.

Panjab University also won the Artistic Gymnastics team Championship with 196.600 points. University of Mumbai secured second place with 192.750 points. Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar finished third with 180.900 points.

With victories in both team championships and strong individual performances, Panjab University emerged as the overall champion of the tournament.

*Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig has congratulated the players, coaches and officials at the Directorate of Sports on this big achievement.*

PU Director Sports, Dr Rakesh Malik said the achievement reflects the hard work and discipline of the gymnasts and the consistent efforts of the coaches and staff of the Directorate of Sports.

17 मार्च 2026, चंडीगढ़/हिमाचल प्रदेश: पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री व हमीरपुर लोकसभा क्षेत्र से सांसद श्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी में अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद की ऐतिहासिक जीत के उपलक्ष्य में आयोजित  Jhankaar – The Presidential Fest में सम्मिलित होकर  सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम के मध्य युवा साथियों का उत्साहवर्धन व उनसे संवाद कर युवाओं को भारतीय लोक संस्कृति और परंपराओं से जुड़े रहने का संदेश दिया। 

श्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर में कहा “पंजाब, हरियाणा, हिमाचल या फिर उत्तराखंड हम सभी भारत माता के सप्तसिंधु हैं। चाहे गिद्दा हो, भांगड़ा या फिर नाटी या  उत्तराखंड छोलिया नृत्य, पांडव नृत्य हो यह सभी उस महान सप्तसिंधु संस्कृति का हिस्सा है। भारत की ताकत उसकी विविध संस्कृति और परंपराओं में निहित है। ऐसे सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम युवाओं को अपनी जड़ों से जोड़ते हैं और उन्हें देश की सांस्कृतिक विरासत को समझने का अवसर प्रदान करते हैं। संस्कृति,  राजनीति या फिर संसदीय परंपरा में देश के युवाओं का आपसी संवाद एक शुभ संकेत है और आज हम जिस विकसित भारत की बात करते हैं वो युवाओं की भागीदारी के बिना पूरा नहीं हो सकता”



श्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने कहा “मोदीजी का संकल्प है की हम एक लाख योग्य युवाओं को देश की सक्रिय राजनीति में लायें। मेरा मानना है कि आप सब को भी एक लाख युवाओं में होना चाहिए क्योंकी आपके पास विजन भी है मिशन भी है और डेडिकेशन भी है।  मैंने भी हिमाचल के युवाओं के लिए युवा चेंजमेकर नाम से  लीडरशिप/फैलोशिप ट्रेनिंग  प्रोग्राम की शुरुआत की है जिसमें अभी तक दस हजार से अधिक रजिस्ट्रेशन हो चुके हैं । 

कार्यक्रम के दौरान हिमाचली संस्कृति को दर्शाने वाली कई पारंपरिक प्रस्तुतियां भी दी गईं। इनमें हिमाचली नाटी, सिरमौरी नाटी, किन्नौरी नाटी के साथ-साथ लद्दाखी और मणिपुरी नृत्य भी शामिल रहे। रंग-बिरंगे पारंपरिक परिधानों और लोक धुनों ने माहौल को और आकर्षक बना दिया। इस अवसर पर विशिष्ट अतिथियों के रूप में धर्मशाला से विधायक श्री सुधीर शर्मा  भी मौजूद रहे। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन एबीवीपी और पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय कैंपस स्टूडेंट्स काउंसिल के सहयोग से किया गया।

In the General Body Meeeting of Indian Forest Service Officers of Punjab, held on 9/3/2026, Sh Basanta Rajkumar IFS has been unanimously elected as the President of the IFS Association, Punjab Chapter.

Sh Rajkumar is among the seniormost IFS officer in Punjab and is presently working as the Chief Wildlife Warden of Punjab and also having the charge of MD of Punjab State Forest Development Corporation. 

Other elected Executive Members of IFS Association Punjab include Sh S.P. Anand IFS, Sh. S.K. Sagar IFS, Sh, Dharamveer Dairu IFS, Sh. Amneet Singh IFS, Smt Harpreet Kaur IFS and Sh Harbhajan Singh IFS.

The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, along with his wife Smt.  Anita Kataria, attended the celebration of International Women's Day as the Chief Guest. The event was organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development under the theme “Balance the Scales.” Shri Satya Pal Jain, Chairperson of the Social Welfare Committee of the Administrator’s Advisory Council, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. Secretary, Social Welfare and Women & Child Development, Chandigarh, Ms. Anuradha S. Chagti, was also present on the occasion.


Addressing the gathering, the Administrator extended his greetings to all women and appreciated their valuable contribution to society, nation-building and family life. He said that empowering women through education, opportunities and respect leads to the overall progress and prosperity of society. He emphasized that women are a strong pillar of society and their equal participation is essential for building a developed India.


On the occasion, 27 distinguished women from Chandigarh were honoured with the Women Achiever Award for their outstanding contributions in different fields. The Administrator congratulated the awardees and said that their achievements would inspire many others to excel in their respective areas.


During the programme, a booklet titled “Prerna 2.0” highlighting inspiring stories of women achievers was also launched by the Administrator. The publication is an initiative of the Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, aimed at showcasing the strength, resilience and contributions of women in society.


The Administrator also highlighted the remarkable achievements of Indian women in fields such as science, politics, sports and social leadership. He noted that women have played an important role in the country’s progress and continue to inspire future generations through their determination and dedication.


Reaffirming the importance of gender equality, the Governor said that true development can only be achieved when women are given equal opportunities, dignity and respect in every sphere of life. He appreciated the efforts of the Government of India under the leadership of Narendra Modi to promote women empowerment through various schemes and initiatives. He called upon society to work together to create an environment where every woman feels safe, empowered and confident to realise her dreams.


Palika Arora, Director, Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, highlighted that the department is implementing several initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of women in Chandigarh. These include social security schemes such as pensions for widows and destitute women and the Shagun Scheme, along with centrally sponsored programmes like Mission Shakti, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. The department also provides institutional support through One Stop Centres, Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas and the Women Helpline 181, besides promoting nutrition and childcare through Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0.

मुख्यमंत्री तीर्थ यात्रा स्कीम के तहत मोहाली विधानसभा क्षेत्र से तीर्थ यात्रा के लिए 9वीं बस को विधायक कुलवंत सिंह ने हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। सेक्टर-68 और कुंभरा से श्रद्धालुओं से भरी इस बस को रवाना करते हुए विधायक कुलवंत सिंह ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत सिंह मान की सोच के अनुसार यह योजना सफलतापूर्वक आगे बढ़ रही है और श्रद्धालुओं में धार्मिक यात्रा पर जाने को लेकर काफी उत्साह देखने को मिल रहा है।

उन्होंने कहा कि इस यात्रा के तहत बूथ के हिसाब से बसें भेजी जा रही हैं और आने वाले समय में और भी बसें तीर्थ यात्रा के लिए रवाना की जाएंगी। इस यात्रा के दौरान श्रद्धालु जहां धार्मिक स्थलों के दर्शन करेंगे, वहीं देश की आजादी के लिए कुर्बानी देने वाले वीरों से जुड़े जलियांवाला बाग को भी देख सकेंगे। इसके अलावा श्रद्धालु वाघा बॉर्डर पर जाकर यह भी देख पाएंगे कि देश की सीमाओं पर जवान किस तरह रात-दिन देश की रक्षा करते हैं, ताकि देश के लोग चैन की नींद सो सकें।

विधायक कुलवंत सिंह ने कहा कि अब विपक्षी पार्टियों के पास आम आदमी पार्टी सरकार के खिलाफ उठाने के लिए कोई मुद्दा नहीं बचा है, क्योंकि आम आदमी से किए गए अधिकांश वादे और गारंटियां पूरी की जा चुकी हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पार्टी के संयोजक अरविंद केजरीवाल और मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत सिंह मान ने लोगों से जो वादे किए थे, उन्हें लगातार पूरा किया जा रहा है और आगामी बजट सत्र के दौरान महिलाओं को 1000 रुपये प्रति माह देने की गारंटी की घोषणा भी होने जा रही है।

उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि पंजाब सरकार ने राज्य के लोगों को राहत देते हुए बिजली को 1.50 रुपये प्रति यूनिट सस्ता कर दिया है।

A powerful street play (Nukkad Natak) titled “Nanhi Kali Ki Muskan”, focusing on the social evil of child labour and protection of child rights, was performed today at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, Chandigarh, during the ongoing Rose Festival. The performance was presented by the members of Bal Sarthi Club, SD College, Chandigarh.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Sh. Arun Kumar Aggarwal, Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Chandigarh (Sector 9); Sh. Sunil Kumar, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandigarh (Sector 43); and Dr. Terminder Kaur, Head of Bal Sarthi Club. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the students in spreading social and legal awareness through creative and impactful street theatre.

The Nukkad Natak sensitized the general public about the menace of child labour, the importance of child protection laws, the right to education, prevention of child exploitation, and the legal remedies available to children in distress. The performance evoked strong emotional responses from the audience and received wide appreciation from families, youth and visitors present at the festival.

To further strengthen legal outreach, a Legal Awareness Stall has been installed at the Rose Festival, Sector 16, Chandigarh, for three consecutive days, where citizens can avail:
• Free legal advice
• Information about free legal aid services
• Guidance on women and child protection laws
• Awareness about rights of children and victims of abuse
• Assistance regarding legal remedies, complaints, and dispute resolution mechanisms

The Legal Services Authorities reiterated their commitment to bringing legal awareness to public spaces and ensuring that justice is accessible to all sections of society, particularly children, women and marginalized communities.

This initiative is part of the continuous efforts of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), SLSA and DLSA Chandigarh to promote legal literacy, access to justice and community participation, while encouraging youth involvement in social reform and public welfare activities.

The general public was encouraged to visit the legal awareness stall, interact with legal aid and para-legal volunteers, and make use of the free services provided in the larger interest of justice and social welfare.

NAKSHA पायलट परियोजना की प्रगति की समीक्षा हेतु उपायुक्त


NAKSHA पायलट परियोजना की प्रगति की समीक्षा हेतु उपायुक्त, चंडीगढ़ श्री निशांत कुमार यादव की अध्यक्षता में एक समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में क्षेत्रीय सर्वेक्षण एवं ग्राउंड-ट्रुथिंग गतिविधियों की प्रगति का आकलन किया गया। इस बैठक में अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त, सर्वे ऑफ इंडिया के अधिकारी, एनआईसी के प्रतिनिधि, नगर निगम चंडीगढ़ (एमसीसी), एनपीएमयू दिल्ली तथा एमपीएसईडीसी, भोपाल (वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से) के प्रतिनिधि उपस्थित रहे।

बैठक के दौरान बताया गया कि सेक्टर 2 से 17 तक लगभग 7,000 संपत्तियां हैं, जिनमें आवासीय एवं वाणिज्यिक दोनों प्रकार की इकाइयां शामिल हैं। इनमें से लगभग 4,500 संपत्तियों का NAKSHA फील्ड टीमों द्वारा ग्राउंड-ट्रुथिंग एवं सत्यापन हेतु भौतिक निरीक्षण किया जा चुका है।

वर्तमान में प्रतिदिन लगभग 20 फील्ड टीमें सर्वे कार्य में लगी हुई हैं। प्रतिकूल मौसम परिस्थितियों के बावजूद टीमें निरंतर प्रगति कर रही हैं तथा यह अपेक्षा की जा रही है कि यह संपूर्ण प्रक्रिया 31 जनवरी, 2026 तक पूर्ण कर ली जाएगी।

उपायुक्त ने परियोजना से जुड़े सभी विभागों एवं एजेंसियों के प्रयासों की सराहना की तथा पायलट परियोजना को समयबद्ध ढंग से पूरा करने के महत्व पर बल दिया, जो सटीक एवं विश्वसनीय संपत्ति अभिलेख तैयार करने के लिए अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन ने सभी निवासियों एवं संपत्ति मालिकों से अपील की है कि वे फील्ड सर्वे टीमों को पूर्ण सहयोग प्रदान करें तथा संपत्ति स्वामित्व एवं अभिलेखों से संबंधित आवश्यक विवरण मांगे जाने पर उपलब्ध कराएं, ताकि सर्वे कार्य सुचारु रूप से एवं निर्धारित समयसीमा के भीतर पूर्ण किया जा सके।

प्रशासन ने पारदर्शी एवं प्रौद्योगिकी-आधारित सुशासन के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता दोहराते हुए नागरिकों को आश्वस्त किया कि NAKSHA परियोजना के अंतर्गत एकत्रित किया गया डेटा निर्धारित मानदंडों के अनुसार केवल आधिकारिक प्रयोजनों के लिए ही उपयोग किया जाएगा।

Accomplishing another milestone on the New Year, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has successfully operationalised its *Hospital Information System (HIS)* at the *PGIMER Satellite Centre, Sangrur,* with effect from *1st January 2026,* marking a significant milestone in the Institute’s digital health journey.

Highlighting the importance of this initiative, *Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER,* stated, “The successful rollout of the HIS at Sangrur reflects PGIMER’s focused approach towards comprehensive digitisation of hospital services. The system has been designed to enhance efficiency, transparency and patient convenience, and  *the same digital framework will be further strengthened and replicated at PGIMER Chandigarh* to ensure uniform, seamless and patient-centric service delivery across all PGIMER facilities.”

In the first phase, essential modules including *Patient Registration, Billing, and Admission–Discharge–Transfer (ADT)* have been made operational and are currently being used for routine hospital functions. Additional modules such as *Doctor Desk, Laboratory Services, and Stores/Inventory Management* are in advanced stages of training and trial runs and will be rolled out shortly to complete the integrated digital workflow.

Detailing the initiative further, *Mr. Pankaj Rai,  Deputy Director (Administration), PGIMER,* stated, ‘A clear timeline had been set to operationalise the HIS at Sangrur from 1st January 2026, and the target was achieved through close coordination and sustained efforts of all concerned teams.”

“The Hospital Information System has been developed by *C-DAC, Noida,* as part of PGIMER’s broader digital transformation roadmap. The Sangrur Satellite Centre, *a 350-bedded hospital,* is among the early adopters of this robust system, which aims to streamline hospital operations, improve real-time data access, and strengthen the overall quality of patient care, added Mr. Rai. 

The successful commissioning of the HIS at Sangrur underscores PGIMER’s commitment to leveraging technology for strengthening public healthcare delivery and advancing efficient, transparent and patient-focused services.

*Chandigarh, November 11:-* Aimed to promote awareness on waste segregation, home composting, and sustainable waste management practices among students and staff, a Swachhata ki Karyashala was organized today at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 23-A, Chandigarh, under the aegis of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. The event was also attended by Dr. Inderdeep Kaur, Medical Officer of Health, MCC, along with the school principal, senior MCC officers, teachers, and students.

A live demonstration on segregation of waste at source and home composting techniques was conducted to educate participants on simple and practical methods for managing household waste. Students actively participated in the session and pledged to implement waste segregation in their homes and school premises.

Addressing the students, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and segregating waste at the source. He stated, “True Swachhata begins at home. Each citizen must take responsibility to separate wet and dry waste, practice home composting, and contribute towards a cleaner and greener Chandigarh. The Municipal Corporation is committed to supporting such initiatives that foster community participation and sustainable urban living.”

The session concluded with a vote of thanks to MCC officials and the school authorities for their active support in spreading the message of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among young citizens.
