Two day workshop on personality development and communication skills organized at Panjab University, Chandigarh

Two day workshop on personality development and communication skills was organized from 30 Jan 2023 to 31 Jan 2023 at Department of Sanskrit in association with Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh. ,

In the first session, Dr. Sohan Singh gave tips to the students on how to manage stress and achieve a positive attitude with the help of his impressive personality. In the second session, Dr. Navneet K. Kalsi told the students how they will always be more interactive in the classes if they have strong communication skills.

Good communication skills build strong friendships. It also helps us to be confident enough. The third session was presided over by Prof. Deepti Gupta in which she emphasized on resume writing skills. He explained how resume acts as a bridge between an individual and a potential recruiter. Hence the importance of resume can never be underestimated.

Therefore, to make a first impression, it is important that your resume stands out from the crowd at first. So try to keep writing your resume simple, easy to read and easy to understand. In the fourth session, Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha informed the students about interview skills through power point presentation.

He emphasized on 30 second impression i.e. dressing professionally and 90% of the way you communicate with other people is through body language (gesture, expressions etc.). They also told about the ratings regarding the interview: job aptitude 10%, communication skills 25%, appearance 25% and attitude 40%. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Bhardwaj Bargai (coordinator) and Prof. Baijnath Prasad, Head, Department of Sanskrit.
