HANDS OVER APPOINTMENT LETTERS TO 603 NEWLY SELECTED CLERKS AND JES IN PSPCL

Chandigarh, November 26-

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said that in a first, the state government has handed over appointment letters to more than 21000 youth in merely eight months.

The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering while handing over appointment letters to 603 newly selected employees including 476 clerks, 68 Junior Engineers (Electrical) and 59 Junior Engineers (Sub station) in PSPCL here at Municipal Bhawan.

The Chief Minister said that this massive drive reflects commitment of his government for welfare of youth as for the first time in history of the country any state government has opened doors of the government jobs for its youth in first eight months of its tenure. He said that merit had been the sole criteria for this entire recruitment process. Bhagwant Mann said that the entire process has been completed in a transparent manner to ensure that only eligible and deserving youth get the jobs.

The Chief Minister further said that several more government jobs are in pipeline as recruitment process is already going on in many departments. He asserted that more and more unemployed youths will get government job very soon on basis of their capability. Bhagwant Mann said that getting a job is the right of every qualified person and the state government is leaving no stone unturned for it.

The Chief Minister further said that process to fill posts of 2100 Assistant Linemen is going on and will be completed by the next month. He said that the examination for these posts has been conducted and the result will be declared this week. Bhagwant Mann announced that by the next month the selected candidates will be given the appointment letters of government jobs.

On this occasion, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister A. Venu Prasad, PSPCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Baldev Singh Saran and others were also present.

The 49th Annual Conference of Indian Immunology Society

The 49th Annual Conference of Indian Immunology Society (Immunocon ’22) being held at PGIMER, Chandigarh from 23rd-26th Nov 2022 organized by the Departments of Translational & Regenerative Medicine and Immunopathology was packed with rigorous scientific programme on its 2nd day today.

The programme started with a plenary lecture by Prof. Joshy Jacob from Emory University, USA who discussed in detail the mutations in antibody maturation process. Scientists from all over the world discussed tailored immunity, immune metabolism and immune based therapies in the following sessions. Dr. Meera Sharma who holds expertise in the field of immunodiagnostics and intellectual property rights(IPR) protection gave a lecture about patenting process in the field of medicine. Dr. Nandi from IISc, Banglore explained the Raman scattering analysis of plasma as a novel point of care method for distinguishing COVID 19 patients from normal flu patients. There were educating talks about chikungunya infection, leismaniasis and other viral diseases.

Prof. G P Talwar who is considered as father of immunology in India and is presently Director Research at the Talwar Research Foundation graced the occasion and opened the trade show in the conference where various industry exhibitors dealing with biomedical products showcased their products of utilty in disease monitoring and immunological research. Prof. Talwar also presented Senior Scientist Oration award to Prof. Javed Agrewala on the behalf of Indian Immunology Society. The sessions of the day ended with a wonderful talk by Prof. Talwar emphasizing development of unique vaccine endowed with multiple benefits and highlighted the importance of mission oriented research.

Department of Tourism is organising Chandigarh Carnival from 2nd to 4th December, 2022

The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration is organising Chandigarh Carnival from 2nd to 4th December, 2022 at Open Ground opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh.

During this festival various fun and flora activities including setting up of amusement park, day cultural programmes including three Mega Musical Nites are also being organized as a part of celebration.

As a part of event, the department is also organizing day cultural programme from 2nd to 4th December, 2022 at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh and Morning Raga on 3rd and 4th December, 2022 at Botanical Garden and Sukhna Lake respectively with classical artists.

What makes it different from Previous Carnivals is that the Carnival, 2022 from 2nd to 4th December, 2022 is to be celebrated after 2019. In the year 2020 and 2021, the carnival was not celebrated due to Covid-19 pandemic. This year the Department is organizing Morning Raga on 3rd December, 2022 at Botanical Garden and on 4th December, 2022 at Sukhna Lake. The Day Cultural Programme will also be organized at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. with artists of different States i.e. from Gujarat, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, TamilNadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana etc. The stage will be open for public in which amateur artists can perform and show their talent. This year the Theme of Carnival, 2022 is “Apna Shehar Apna Jashan”. The Carnival Parade will be organized from Open Ground opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10 to New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh with 75 nos. of Dholis. Accidental Prone Jhullas i.e. Giant Wheel, Columbus Boat, Break dance, Ranger, Tower Jhulla etc. will not be installed due to safety of public/visitors.

F&CC approves appointment of CSIR - NEERI for the project of Integrated Solid Waste Management Processing Facility at Chandigarh

Chandigarh, November 25:-

The Finance and Contract committee of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has decided to appoint of CSIR – National Environment Engineering Research Institution (NEERI) – Nagpur as Consultant for the project “Integrated Solid Waste Management Processing Facility at Chandigarh”. This was decided in a meeting of F&CC held here today under the chairpersonship of Smt. Sarbjit Kaur Dhillon, Mayor and attended other members of committee namely Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh Sidhu, Sh. Saurabh Joshi, Smt. Taruna Mehta, Smt. Gurbax Rawat and other senior officers of MCC were present during the meeting.

The Punjab government is striving to provide basic facilities to every section of the state. Taking a step in this direction, Bathinda Corporation has taken an exclusive initiative to build the first special public toilet for transgenders.

Giving more information Punjab Local Government Minister Dr.Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that a toilet for transgenders has been constructed in an area of 90 square feet near the Bathinda bus stand.

The Cabinet Minister said that in this toilet, provision has also been made to provide toilet facilities for physically challenged persons . He said that this facility will also be arranged soon in other cities.

JALANDHAR DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY STARTS E-AUCTION OF COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES

• JDA had successfully auctioned properties of around Rs. 19 crores in October

Chandigarh, November 24:

Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) has started the e-auction of commercial, residential properties and a chunk site situated in various cities falling under its jurisdiction. The e-auction has been started and will conclude on December 7, 2022 at 1.00 PM.

Giving details an official spokesperson of Housing & Urban Development Department revealed that properties offered in the e-auction include 62 commercial sites (36 SCO/SCF/SCS & 26 Booths/ Convenient Booths/Strip Booths) and 54 residential plots. These properties are situated at different locations in Jalandhar, Mukerian, Kapurthala & Sultanpur Lodhi. A chunk site situated at Gandhi Vanita Ashram Site, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar having reserve price of Rs. 14.22 crore is also being offered in the e-auction, he added.

In the last e-auction held in the month of October this year, JDA had successfully auctioned properties amounting approximately to Rs. 19 crores, stated the spokesperson.

He informed that Bidders will have to register themselves on the e-auction portal www.puda.e-auctions.in for participating in the bidding process. The terms & conditions of the e-auction are also available on this portal. Possession of the auctioned sites shall be handed over to the successful bidders within 90 days from the issuance of allotment letter. Details pertaining to the properties including reserve price, nature, location plans, payment and other terms & conditions could be seen on the e-auction portal, he added.

Vigilance registers case against general manager PUNSUP for misappropriation in Atta-Dal scheme

Chandigarh November 23 :

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, on Wednesday registered an embezzlement case against General Manager of PUNSUP Naveen Kumar Garg for alleged misappropriation in Atta Dal scheme implemented by the state government.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the state VB said the Bureau has conducted a probe and found that during the disbursement under Atta Dal scheme in the year 2015-16, Naveen Kumar has allegedly caused direct monetary loss of Rs 2,20,52,042 to the state exchequer. He has to deposit Rs 43,74,98,681 in the account of UCO bank under this scheme but he deposited only Rs 38,38,88,711. In this way, the accused has misappropriated Rs 5,36,09,979 in conniving with other officials of the PUNSUP.

The spokesperson further added that accused Naveen Kumar during his tenure in the PUNSUP allegedly overlooked prescribed Punjab service rules and got filed several chargesheets issued to different officials of the department thus causing a loss of Rs 64,64,36,854 to the state government.

He informed that during the investigations it has also come to light that Naveen Kumar didn’t have requisite qualification and experience to be got selected as Manager PUNSUP but despite that he succeeded in his selection as Manager whereas other candidates were declared ineligible.

In this regard the VB has registered a case under FIR no. 25 dated 22-11-2022 under section 409, 420, 465, 468, 471 of IPC and under section 13(1) (a) and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act at VB police station, flying squad-1, SAS Nagar. The investigation of this case was under progress and teams have been sent to arrest the accused, he added.

6th CII Ayush Conclave 2022 organized with support of Ministry of Ayush

Union Minister of Ayush Shri Sarbananda Sonowal laid emphasis on how Ayush can play an important role in realizing the dream of ‘New India’ by providing holistic healthcare and medical care for its citizens. Minister was addressing the gathering at 6th CII Ayush Conclave 2022 in New Delhi today.

In his inaugural address Shri Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Ayush market has reached $18 billion from meager $3 billion under guidance and visionary leadership of our Prime Minister.” He added that at present we are witnessing a highly receptive environment where the value of Ayush systems in healthcare is widely being recognized. Many reforms in research strategies, nature of practice and education are underway, which will facilitate growth in this sector. The new generation of our country should study and deeply about the Ayush systems. “

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush in his keynote address said, “Ministry of Ayush in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) has established a lot of benchmarks for Ayush system. These benchmarks will be beneficial for all the stakeholders, particularly industry related to Ayush systems”

Shri Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary Ministry of Ayush addressed the plenary session on regulatory roadmap for ease of doing business. Punjab Government implements GIS technology for measuring roads

GIS technology will bring transparency in road repairs and reduce government expenditure: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal

The government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has brought the latest GIS technology to measure roads. Disclosing this here today, the state’s Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that Punjab Mandi Board measured the roads using GIS technology, which is the latest technology. Due to GIS technology, 538 km of rural link roads have been measured less out of 64,878 km.

Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that this is a big achievement of the Punjab government, as it will make a total difference of 538 km of measurement in tenders compared to the road data book. He said that it is not possible to measure the bends, elbow bends, 90 degree bends etc. manually. Similarly, it is possible to measure the width and depth of potholes manually during road repair.

The minister said that G.I.S. Technology will bring transparency in the cost of repair of roads and the government expenditure will also be reduced.

Education Minister seeks information about teachers deputed in other government departments

With an aim to bolster the school education system, School Education Minister of Punjab Harjot Singh Bains has launched campaign to bring back the teachers assigned other duties or deputed in different offices instead of teaching in schools for a long time

Giving the information, Minister Bains said here today that he has received reports from the field that some employees of the school education department are assigned jobs in different offices instead of teaching the students in the schools, which is causing a lot of damage to the education of the students in the state.

Mr. Bains said that in this regard complete data has been sought from the district education offices and they have been directed to furnish details about the name and position of the employee who left the school and how long they have been on duty outside the school and also by whose orders this appointment was made.

After collecting all the information, they will be brought to school with immediate effect.

Education Minister Mr. Bains also said that if any school head or district officer tries to conceal the data of an employee, a stern departmental action will be taken against them. He said that teachers will solely concentrate on teaching work and not be assigned any other task.

Reiterating his commitment to raise the standard of education in Punjab and develop a best school system in the country, Bains said that he is working diligently to improve the education system to yield good results in the future.
